QUICK UPDATE

I'M A SENIOR NOW!!!!!!!

Yes, people. I'm a 12 grader and on the upper cast of the whole pyramid. This is sad since it all comes down to 4 of us. I remember when there are 8 of us, sitting at the side of basketball field, eating our lunch. But then, when I remember that we're going to have our trip to Bali (this time, the whole 12th grade) it somehow gives me strength. And I got a fun class with many active Tweoples!

It's been two weeks since our first day, but pretty much things have happened. And most of it are fun and gossips and pointless talks. Though the teacher have warned us to be more serious due to the Government Test, we don't take pressure of it. We manage to balance it pretty much well.

..Somehow, I gotta feeling that 12 grade is gonna be fun and memorable :)

I Dreamed A Dream

AAAHHHHHHHH two weekends away from new semester!! This have been the MOST unproductive holiday I've ever had. I even haven't cleaned up my cupboard from last year's books and junks. My 30 days of holiday can be sum up to 4 words; sleep, eat, TV and Internet. Splendid.

Among all those 4 activities, I should say Internet gives me more happiness after food. I was doing my regular activities on Internet such us feeling fed up with Twitter's fail whale, bored on Facebook, blank on Looklet, blablabla you get my point. So I headed to Youtube and I saw that America's Got Talent is holding some sort of Youtube auditions. This immediately reminds me of Susan Boyle.

Well, in case you got locked in the bathroom for the entire year of 2009 or just like being the last one to know, I'm gonna refresh your memory. Susan Boyle is the runner up of Britain's Got Talent 2009, who stunned everybody with her performance. She was 47 when she went for audition and everybody were being cynical and under estimating her because of her look. But, BAM! she started singing and everybody change their mind.

I can't find the video to embed in here, so click here to watch the video.

These are the expression they made when she said she's 47, dreaming to be a professional singer as good as Eileen Page.

And.. Look how surprised they are. The expressions are priceless :)

Have you ever been under estimated? Some people are stuck in stereotypes and their own idealism, they can't see what's beneath the cover. Well, I'm gonna tell you something. When people lower their expectation on you because they don't think you'll make it, it's your time to shine. Surprised them, do something that they have never expected you can do. You'll enjoy every moment seeing their expression, just like in the video. Don't let people let you down for any reason, there is always something inside every each one of you. You might not have find out what you're best at, but you will. Do your best, you'll be surprised of what you can do.

SEE YA!

The Pink.. Something.

RATE: ⋆⋆⋆⋆

"nothing takes the flavor out of peanut butter quite like unrequited love"
Charlie Brown

You know, Raditya Dika have just launched his new book titled Marmut Merah Jambu (which is, frankly, a quite weird title)

To be honest, I'm not much into Indonesian comedy novels because the image of Indonesian modern literature doesn't attract me much since it has been been contaminated with sex jokes and cliché ending, which is mostly, happily ever after. But this book has been given good reviews and I personally followed the author himself on Twitter and BANG, I found myself sitting with a glass of milk and lots of snack while holding the book. At first, I expect this book not to fail to make me laugh, since everybody have been saying that this book is hilarious. Well, it fails. I cried. It was really out of my expectation, there are irony, comedy, honesty, and mostly, LOVE.

The book itself is very much different than the other, though his signature comedy style is still very much there. My personal favorite chapters were 'Pertemuan Terakhir Dengan Ina Mangunkusumo' and 'How I Meet You, Not Your Mother'
'Pertemuan Terakhir Dengan Ina Mangunkusumo' tells the story of him and an unrequited love. The quote above were quoted from this chapter, which is my favorite. He described briefly the little details which is very touching for a man to pay that much attention. I've heard lots and lots of love stories, for I am a book worm and a movie addict. But this is one of a story that give me that little quiver in my heart. This is the part where I cried. The irony is just unbearable, bitter and hurtful, even though sprinkled with a little comedy. I can feel his deep sadness upon his unrequited love. This chapter makes me cried, smiled and remember all at the same time. And for me, a story that makes me laugh and cried at the same time is much more than best.

'How I meet You, Not Your Mother' is actually a very very very sweet and witty way to describe the union of two humans. Once again, I'm touched by irony. What really embittered the story is that, the couple have broke up not long before the book is released. How he briefly told the readers about their relationship, makes me smile. I love how he spit things out without being afraid. He once said in this chapter that, 'For other people, they see me as a clown, but for you, I show you the human.'
Wow. I was a amazed. He showed the reader that beneath one self, is another true one self. Humor have been a mask used by lots of people. Expecting someone to be how they usually be is wrong. When you're getting serious, expect nothing. You'll be suprised by what you might get.

Oh well, this book is great in every way.

LOVE,

I CAN STILL REMEMBER OUR HELLO..

Hello people, I'm posting again. I know I'm not a good blogger, it's been ages since my last post. But things were easier said in my Twitter though 140 characters is never enough. Ah, I'm losing my point here.

GOODBYE

Everybody hates goodbyes. Especially when you live your hello to the happiest, with the beloved ones. But every hello ends with goodbye and that is one thing for sure. I have successfully passed 11 grade, where tons of memories are made in that particular class. There are good and bad, sad and smiles, sorrow and merry laughter, friendship and problems but things could never be any spicier without it. Frankly, my class was not the best of all 6 classes, but everything in it manage to sit in my heart labelled with the sweetest memories.

I wish I could state everything that had happened in my class but one year of fun stuff can't be told even in the most complicated vocabulary. I remember the days when the teacher didn't came in to class and we gather round to form a circle and talk about stuff, many many stuff. The times when we went to places in the name of school task can never any funner. Our trip, though were not nicely planned, ended up good. But anywhere is good with the right guys. We set up birthday surprises for each other, cakes, candles and pictures are always involved, and we mostly ended up making a big mess in the class.

A wise once said "There are always two side of a coin" and that's true. When there's good, there's bad too. I honestly would say my class have problems and conflicts. My class was kinda divided into two parts, the front group and the back group. Yes, I believe you can pretty well guessed that the back group are stamped with the label 'troublemaker' and that was a bit true. I kind of belong to the back group because we were slowly formed by our seat position, but all of the good things happened above were experienced with those people. I won't state the conflicts that happened inside but there are troubles.

I'm going to 12th grade in a few weeks, which means a new class, new people, new experience and new hello. Some of my friends are going to study overseas and two of them are my best-est and another two is going for early college. Another hurtful goodbye to be said. But mark my words, I don't care if time and space separate us because there is no time long enough and distance far enough to break the fact that true friendship last forever. I know that was freakin' cliché and you might think I stolen it from some saying cards, but no. That's pure original, FYI. Okay, that's it. I ran out of things to say.

I can still remember our hello. Can't believe it's time for Goodbye...

I'M GOING TO MAKE IT HAPPEN. YOU?

Oh thanks God I can sign in to Blog!! I don't know what the hell is happening, but either my laptop or my Internet connection won't let me to open Facebook, nor Twitter, nor Looklet, nor signing me in to MSN! Imagine it, huh? So, here I am blabbering back to you guys who care enough to open my blog. 1:29am now, with Feeling Sorry by Paramore on Now Playing. Let's see what can we do now. Hmm..

FUTURE
This is a big issue lately around my school. Since I'm on the 11th grade and getting closer to University/College, we are very concerned about which path which will led us to the best future. Sure, we all want a good, easy and happy future, but there's nothing that good in this life. Back to the path, some of my friends are still confused and have no idea what they should take. Advices like, "Follow your heart" or "What do you like the most?" or "What's your talent?" are very non-effective since they themselves have no answer to that. I truly understand their condition because I've had the very same problem like that few months ago. Thanks God, He had shown me my interest in Fashion Business :)

I know there's nothing easy especially when you're getting older and getting closer to real world out there. It's your future you're betting here. Once you take a wrong step, everything will be different. No pressure :)
But I'm really serious here. There's no time to sit back and relax now. You are about to take the first steps to your whole future ahead. My only advice to you is, to really really dig deep inside yourself to find out who your truly self is. Browse a lot, observe much, try everything as long as you can. You are responsible for your own future and you can't make others choose what's best for you. There is no way God created you for nothing the day He made you. You have to be something if God have given you a chance to live now.

And for you who already know exactly what you want and having obstacles with it, I pray the best for you. Go for it, nothing can stop you from reaching your own future, it's YOUR life you're living now and tomorrow. Don't let go your dreams and interest where you're best at, you don't want to feel sorry for yourself in the future, do you? When God have given you something to be good at, HE must have plans for you with it.

And to conclude my sloppy blabbering, I found this great quote by John M. Richardson.
“When it comes to the future, there are three kinds of people: those who let it happen, those who make it happen, and those who wonder what happened.”

Which one are you?

See you in the good future!! :D

RECYCLED COMIC NOTEBOOK

HEYHO!! Really in the mood for blogging. So, I got this recycling project for my Geography class and I decided to documented it. Gonna show you the step-by-step of the procedure. Quite tricky but it's cute and originally my idea. Take a peep!! ;)

THINGS YOU'LL NEED

1. 2 piece of old CD
2. rewrite-able used papers
3. 2 key chain rings (as the binder)
4. comic strips
4. glue
5. scissors
6. nail (to make a hole in the CD)

STEP 1: Heat up the nail to make 2 holes on top of the CD with the difference about 3-5cm between each.

STEP 2: Glued the comic strip to the surface of the CD. Then, cut it to trace a perfect circle.

Do the same steps to the other pair of the CD. There you have it, your notebook cover.

STEP 3: Prepare the rewrite-able used paper. What i mean was, the used paper with empty spaces where you can still pretty much write on it. I am using my used file paper here. Trace the CD around the paper and cut it.

P.S: for the paper, I don't traced it neatly to add the whole I-did-this-myself effect. hahaha!

STEP 4: Punch 2 holes with the same length as the CD, put everything together with the key chain ring. Enlarge the twirl on the key chain to make it easier to put through (optional)

STEP 5: DONE! Congratulations, you have made yourself a new Eco-friendly cute notebook. Be creative with the cover, you can put leather, chains, studs for some rock-glam look, or laces and sequins for romantic girly look. The concept is the same :)

GLEE

Have no idea what to do. So I decided to review one of the most discussed TV series at the moment: GLEE

Glee tell us a story of a Spanish teacher, William Schuester (Matthew Morrison) who is directing a music club named Glee consist of unpopular kids with great talent but low confidence. The female lead singer, Rachel Berry (Lea Michelle) is a complicated Jewish young lady. She have great potential within her and she likes competition. While the male lead singer, Finn Hudson (Cory Monteith), a boyfriend of the Popular Cheerios Leader, Quinn Fabray (Dianna Agron), is a Football captain in their school. Both Rachel and Finn had crush for each other but they didn't admit it. There's Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) too, the head coach of the Cheerios who are eager to crush the Glee club. What will happen next? you better catch them on Starworld Asia every Wednesday on 18:00pm WIB. The music, the twist, the cast, all worth to watch.

So, let's review the cast one by one:

1. William Schuester

The role is played by Matthew Morrison. He is a Spanish teacher with great voice, dance move and pretty face. He is married to Terry Schuester (Jessalyn Gilsig) but in the school, he is very close to Emma Pilsbury (Jayma Mays), a clean addict teacher who happen to have the same feelings to him.

2. Rachel Berry

Lea Michelle as the female lead singer in Glee club did a pretty good job. There's something about her look that is pretty attractive. She is very much into competition and has a good heart. The voice of her is just great. Every performance by her is great. Just to name some, No Air, Take a Bow, Defying Gravity and etc.

3. Corey Monteith

Playing the role of Finn Hudson, the captain of the school Football team, also the male lead singer of Glee club. Dating Quinn Fabray but also have a crush for Rachel. Cute and popular, totally a chick-magnet.

4. Jane Lynch

Starring in Glee as the coach of the school cheerleading squad, 'Cheerios', she is the type of woman who will do whatever it takes to win, including breaking up the Glee club because he dislikes Mr. Schuester and she thinks the Glee club is blocking her way. Jane plays her role very well, I even hate her so much!

Other Cast:

Dianna Agron (Quinn Fabray)

Chris Colfer (Kurt Hummel)

Kevin McHale (Artie Abrams)

Amber Riley (Mercedes Jones)

Mark Salling (Noah 'Puck' Puckerman)

Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina Cohen-Chang)

Naya Rivera (Santana Lopez)

Heather Morris (Brittany)

Dijon Talton (Matt Rutherford)

Harry Shum Jr. (Mike Chang)

That's all!! Be prepared for season two guys!!! :)
